Fortunately, magnetic lashes are low-maintenance and don’t require you to devote an extensive amount of time to clean them. Continue reading to learn about the best methods to keep your magnetic lashes in tip-top shape.
Method #1:
Quick Clean
For this method, you will need:
- Tweezers
- Eye makeup remover (oil-free)
- Cotton swab
- Cotton rounds
- 90% alcohol
Step 1:
Remove your lashes.
After thoroughly washing your hands to prevent passing any bacteria onto the lashes, gently remove your lashes from the eyeliner. We recommend taking the outer corner of the lash band and slowly pulling towards your nose. Whatever you do, do not rip them off, as doing so will inevitably damage the lashes!
Step 2:
Clean your lashes + magnets.
Now that you’ve successfully (and safely) removed your magnetic lashes, it’s time to clean them, which will help extend their lifespan.
Soak a cotton round in a non-oil eye makeup remover and gently rub it on the lashes to remove eyeliner residue. Next, wipe the magnets with a cotton swab soaked in 90% alcohol. Be sure not to rub too aggressively – remember, we’re trying to preserve them!
Step 3:
Dry your lashes.
We’ve already reached the final step! Simply place them on a towel and allow them to air dry.
Method #2:
Thorough Clean
If you have more time on your hands and want to ensure your lashes are completely clean, follow these steps. For this method, you’ll need:
- Tweezers
- Eye makeup remover (oil-free)
- Plastic container
- Eyelash comb
- Tissues
Step 1:
Remove your lashes.
Again, after properly washing your hands, remove your magnetic lashes, starting from the outer corner and gently pulling towards your nose.
Step 2:
Clean your lashes.
Place your Klinqe Magnetic Lashes in an empty plastic container and add oil-free eye makeup remover until your lashes are completely submerged.
Leave your lashes to soak in the makeup remover for no more than five minutes; this will dissolve any residual makeup on the lashes. Once the time is up, use tweezers to remove your lashes from the container and place them on a tissue. If you notice there are still eyeliner remnants on the lashes, use tweezers to remove the residue from the strip and magnets.
Step 3:
Clean them again.
Yup, that’s right. To ensure our lashes are totally clean, we’re repeating the process. After cleaning the plastic container, add a small amount of makeup remover and, with tweezers, dip your lashes, slowly flipping them on either side.
Step 4:
Dry your lashes.
Final step! Place your magnetic lashes on a dry tissue and let them air dry. Once they are completely dry, gently run an eyelash comb through them to restore their original shape.
Caring for Your Magnetic Lashes
You’ve done the grunt work by ensuring your magnetic lashes are fresh and clean for their next use. Now, you have to properly store them. Below are some tips to consider when putting your lashes down for the night.
- Refrain from storing them while they are still wet. Doing so may damage them and/or change their shape.
- Store your lashes in their original Klinqe box to maintain their shape and prevent them from getting damaged.
- Keep your lashes in a dark place, such as your vanity drawer. We advise keeping them out of light or direct sunlight, as the sun is notorious for changing the color of eyelashes.
